Mamadou Diop

Dr. Mamadou Diop is an Assistant Professor with the Department of Medical Biophysics at Western University. He is also a scientist with the Lawson Health Research Institute.

Dr. Diop completed his graduate and undergraduate education in physics at the University Cheikh Anta Diop (UCAD) in Dakar, Senegal in 1997 and 1999, respectively. He also holds a PhD (2004) in physics from Laval University.

His research is focused on developing noninvasive optical methods and devices to probe tissue physiology. These techniques include time-resolved near-infrared spectroscopy, diffuse correlation spectroscopy and multichannel derivative-spectroscopy.
